Details of Carbon Tax Package

July 29, 2011 By jennifer

“A NEW carbon cop will be given sweeping powers to enter company premises, compel individuals to give self-incriminating evidence and copy sensitive records under a carbon tax package that will force about 60,000 businesses to pay 6c a litre extra for fuel.

“The tough new powers of the Clean Energy Regulator were included in the fine detail of the carbon tax package released yesterday, which enshrines national emissions cuts of 12 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year after 2016, if the government of the day rejects targets proposed by its Climate Change Authority.

“The package, which shows that the government will cement in law the body of its carbon tax structure in a bid to force Tony Abbott to win the approval of both houses of parliament to complete his promise to scrap it, also tasks the Productivity Commission with inquiries into assistance to trade-exposed industries, international climate change action and the future of fuel taxes…

On current opinion poll numbers, Abbott will easily have the numbers in a Joint Sitting

Even if these embeciles tax us into total disaster or force us to live in caves it still won’t change the climate or temp by a jot.

Of course China and the developing world won’t do a thing to reduce co2 emissions and will in fact increase their emissions 20 times faster than the developed world.

Wait for it. Wait for the C-word:

“The Clean Energy Regulator will bring CERTAINTY to business.”

Always great to see an honest scientist tell the truth about the fraud of the CAGW scam.

Garth Paltridge should be admired when he explains how the Govt has bought off the science and the scientists.

This comes from an ex Csiro scientist so his opinion carries a lot of experience and substance.

the greens are kidding themselves if they think the libs will be unable to remove this policy in the senate. if they are voted in with a reasonable to large majority ( as currently apppears likely) the greens will not block its removal because then the libs call a double dissolution and in likely end up with a significant majority in both houses. Maybe my bias towards this tax has blinded me but i believe the liberals will win very easily next time.

I also believe if the libs have dominance of both the senate and house of reps it is not a great situation for us to be be in…albeit much better than our current status quo!~

In the age of the eugenics mania the state was empowered in the most extreme legislation to sterilize ‘undesirables’ and to monitor people’s marriage decisions.
Governments complying with AGW policy demands of crazy policies will have to write ridiculous intrusive laws to achieve their goals.

Neville, ‘total disaster’, ‘force us to live in caves’, ‘developing world won’t do a thing to reduce co2 emissions’, and best of all ‘Garth Paltridge should be admired when he explains how the Govt has bought off the science and the scientists’. Do you seriously believe any of the tripe that you write? On the latter and for you information Garth Paltridge is a member of the Lavoisier Group, which has very strong ties to and is supported by the mining and resources industry. And industry never buys favours does it???!!!
