Please refer to my e-mail sent earlier today regarding Lower Lakes issues, especially in relation to our Carp problem. Electric barriers are about to be as effective as current strategies to stop people-smuggling, especially as many carp have been spread by bird-droppings containing poorly-digested Carp eggs, not just by direct migration along inland waterways.
It is incredibly disturbing that the brightest scientific minds in the United States are continuing to dream of manned space-ship adventures to Mars and beyond, costing trillions of dollars, whereas research into effective and selective biological controls does not receive appropriate attention and government funding, both here and in the USA!
