Long-range weather forecaster Piers Corbyn explains that in order to predict world temperature we need to better understand solar activity, magnetic connections and lunar modulation of the same.
Interestingly, towards the end of this presentation Mr Corbyn, who has a first-class honours degree in physics from Imperial College, London, states that it was as hot in the 1930s and 1940s as it is now. Indeed, this is also what the unadjusted raw temperature data for many places in Australia shows.

This is a very good video. I watched it a few days ago and will again too. A bit too much to take in one hit.
Some intersting quotes from Inigo Jones (sixty years ago).
“since then he has been attracted by the same possibility that absorbed Dr. Abott, of washington, for a time, namely that of using a single cycle based on the discovery by Ellery Hale, of Mt. Wilson, that the sun reverses its magnetic polarity in the spots with every sunspot period. Dr. Abott selected the two single cycles of eleven years and a decimal and also double and four times that period while Dr. Jensen has attempted a modification by using the actual sunspot minima which are sometimes as short as ten years.
Last year it was possible to test this and the actual weather showed that it was the position of Jupiter that was the more important control as it had been on previous occasions.
The attractions of this method are very great as it overcomes the present difficulty by providing records which are fully available at twenty two years. However i had applied this same idea to the longer Bruckner cycle, which at 35 or 36 years presents the reversed magnetic polarity but at double the period of 71 years has the polarities the same.”
One day these guys may catch up to old Inigo whose comments about cosmic radiation are even further ahead.

I have a copy here of a copyright study, with extrapolation, of Inigo’s forecasting, Ken. I don’t have a link to give you, unfortunately, but it is very good.

High-speed solar winds increase lightning strikes on Earth
http://phys.org/news/2014-05-high-speed-solar-lightning-earth.html
Professor Giles Harrison, head of Reading’s Department of Meteorology and co-author of the ERL article, said: “In increasing our understanding of weather on Earth we are learning more about its important links with space weather.
“Cosmic rays, tiny particles from across the Universe accelerated to close to the speed of light by exploding stars, have been thought to play a part in thundery weather down on Earth, but our work provides new evidence that similar, if lower energy, particles created by our own Sun also affect lightning.”

Another application:
Today our methods of pinpointing locations on Earth are reliant on space-based satellite navigation systems such as the Global Positioning System (GPS).
But scientists in the UK claim to have found a way to mimic the functions of GPS without sending anything into space.
Currently GPS does not work underwater.
Known as a ‘quantum compass’, this revolutionary method would use the subatomic effects on Earth’s magnetic field and could one day be employed in smartphones. (3-5 years)

Thankyou heaps for posting that link. I read over it slowly and will need to again. You have crammed so much into a small space. One thing that becomes obvious after looking at what Inigo Jones did ,you and Piers Corbyn do is that it is a trade in itself. It cannot be quickly understood apart from the basics and then it requires effort to do.
Great to see you use and preserve some of Inigo Jones methods. No doubt you add your own herbs and spices to the stew. It seemed odd to me that Inigo Jones declared that he did not use the cycle of the moon until both you and Piers Corbin pointed out the syncronicity of the sunspot rotation which he did use.
Jen will know why I was pleased to see this one.
” There are twice as many weak La Nina years as there are weak El Nino years. But there are about equal moderate to strong La Nina and El Nino years.”
The BoM types seem to display this as a ratio on a chart so that it appears that ElNino is more important but it is just that a ratio of 3 takes up more space on the chart than a ratio of 0.33 even though they are the same just opposite.
Sad thing that guys like you did not get some of the funding that has instead been wasted on the counter productive climate scam.
Two things that stand out from 1896 are the heatwave
http://joannenova.com.au/2012/11/extreme-heat-in-1896-panic-stricken-people-fled-the-outback-on-special-trains-as-hundreds-die/
and Cyclone Sigma. 1896 and 1955 both had bad heatwaves in the U.S.A. 2014 seems milder.
Here are old links to Mr Russells 1876 19 year cycle theory you Jennifer may enjoy.

More corruption and fraud from the stupid groupthinkers. Incredible to think that one deceptive unknown reviewer can stop the publication of a new study.
It seems it wouldn’t be helpful to the fraudulent GAGW cause. We are dealing here with deceptive con merchants, not reputable scientists.
