Tom Tripp, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, said there is so much of a natural variability in weather it makes it difficult to come to a scientifically valid conclusion that global warming is man made. “It well may be, but we’re not scientifically there yet.” Read more here.

I’d never heard of the guy until I read the article.
Says the article: “David Randall, an atmospheric scientist at Colorado State University and a coordinating lead author for the IPCC, said Thursday it is inaccurate to call any of its members Nobel winners. “It is a fact that the prize was awarded to the IPCC organization, not to individuals. I would never call myself a Nobel Peace Prize winner.”"
Could someone explain why Randall is wrong and Tripp can in fact call himself a Nobel Peace prize winner, with a clear conscience, even though he is stated to be in disagreement with the IPCC’s statements? Or is this an attempt to promote a certain viewpoint by associating it with a person who (supposedly) has won a Nobel Prize? What then becomes of the “argument-from-authority-fallacy” that is promoted so often in these pages?
What part of the IPCC report did Tripp write?
