    What unmitigated garbage.

I was appalled until I saw it originated from Canwest News Service – Edmonton.

They specialize in that kind of non-news.

Hey Charlie, remember the MWP, a time when temperatures were warmer than today. It was a time of great wealth and many of the beautiful cathedrals of Europe were created; it was a time when wineries were common in Britain; a time when Eric the Red and the vikings established farms in Greenland where there is now perma-ice.

Why would it not be advantageous for Canada if it were warmer?

    Taluka,

The big word here is “if”. Whereas it is a cute romantic notion being put forward here, I myself find it a dangerous route. It is the global warming back door. The way the article is framed, even though it tries to put a different spin on it, it still promtes the reality of imminent AGW, in contravention of the available evidence. Therefore I agree with Charles: garbage.
