The leaders in the promotion of more carbon efficient technologies are the big industries in Sweden such as the car manufacturer Volvo and the paper producer Stora Enso. These companies have pledged to introduced new green technologies that will reduce CO2 emissions by a further 20 per cent by 2020.

I DON`T THINK VOLVO WILL DO MUCH PROMOTING,

The depth of the recession was revealed today as truckmaker Volvo admitted demand across the Continent has crashed by 99.7% as it took orders for just 115 new lorries in the last three months.

Ann,
We’re having a rather wet and cool November in Qld, Australia with many storms.
Today I found at least two families of Tawny Frogmouths c/w chicks blown out of their nests and have had to put them [the chicks] back in trees to protect them from predators.
They look like they will be able to fly in a couple of days as they gain strength.
Life ain’t easy for young wildlife.

Nice words about the Swedes , thanks!

Personally I have no clue if Sweden is going to gain from warming as the Gov’t put much money on fighting climate change.

I saw as well that due to too much rain , Sweden was forced to import grain ( yesterday’s paper).

When I was a child I lived as well in Northern Sweden for a while . It was so cold that when it was too cold in the house , we took our car for drive to keep warm!:))). Of course now the houses are superior and you have as well your Helly Hansen thermal outdoor garment/ clothes.
