Another Hurricane Heading for New Orleans

“The Mayor of New Orleans ordered a mandatory evacuation of the partially rebuilt city yesterday as another monster storm bore down on Louisiana nearly three years to the day after Hurricane Katrina wiped out entire swaths of the metropolis. Hurricane Gustav, which has killed more than 80 people in the Caribbean, strengthened quickly into a category-four storm.”

That’s one of today’s top stories in The Australian.

The hurricane had since weakened to a still very dangerous category-three.

But according to Jeff Masters, Gustav has intensified again, read more at his Wunderblog.

So Gore was right. Just one more data point and you’d have enough to do a paper for E&E.

No Al Gore wasn’t right!!!! Don’t be an idiot. What are you doing here Luke. Is it your assigned task in your Leninist cell group just to come here and talk mindless idiocy the whole time?

And how is that lapdog NT. Ever faithful zombie. Willing to back up any anti-scientific mindless gibber that Luke comes out with.

    Jen,
It was looking very quiet and orderly on tonight’s news. Let’s hope it misses the heavily populated delta and there’s no storm surge.

But Luke, then it’s coming to Australia to quench the drought and save all those drought-aid billions!
    The ABC said so.

Gustav missed. All are well, except for the disaster reporters from the 24/7 networks.
There be a fair amount of knashing of teeth on the weather channel as they were so hoping for a rerun. Congitive dissonance and all that.
But don’t shed any tears for our intrepid minstrels of doom. Hurricane Hanna approachs to give them something new to bite their nails over.
