Methane Leak
Scientists have discovered the Arctic ocean seabed is leaking huge amounts of methane into the atmosphere.  The research published in the journal Science shows the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic shelf, which was thought to be a barrier sealing methane, is perforated.  Read more here. How ‘Green’ is the Hybrid Car?

On 10th June we learned that Australia’s first locally manufactured hybrid car will roll off Toyota’s production line in less than two years, in a deal Victorian Premier John Brumby has heralded as a ‘coup’.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Toyota’s president Katsuaki Watanabe made the announcement today in Japan.

Jason – 2 Ocean Research Satellite Due for Launch
